Agaricus diminutivus Pk. Cap 1-4cm across, ovate then expanded-umbonate; pinky-buff, darker in the center, bruising yellowish; smooth to slightly fibrillose, dry; fibrils pinkish brown to purplish. Gills free; dull pink then brown. Stem 30-60 x 3-6mm, equal, often with basal bulb; white bruising yellowish; smooth to slightly floccose fibrillose below the ring; ring single, thin, white. Flesh thin; white. Odor pleasant. Taste pleasant. Spores broadly ellipsoid, 4.5-5.5 x 3.5-5µ,. Deposit deep brown. Habitat scattered on soil and leaf litter. Found throughout northern North America. Season July-September. Probably edible but too small to eat. |
